Zane Grey (born Pearl Zane Grey) was a well-known American author in the early 1900s that specialized in the genre of Western fiction writing. He wrote popular adventure novels, literature, and stories.
His best selling book was titled, "Riders of the Purple Sage" published in 1912. This book was considered to be the most popular Western novel of all time, and has made an significant impact in how the Western genre was written subsequently.
Even after his death, Zane Grey's literature and works have had continual commercial success. Over time, his novels and short stories have been adapted in film and television productions - a total of 112 films, 2 television episodes, and a televised series titled, "Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater".
