Druids were educated people from the Celtic race dating back to the 3rd century BCE. The Iron Age had Druids that acted as the priests of that era and were responsible for decision making regarding sacrifices and penalties. Disobeying the Druids resulted in being barred from sacrifices, a punishment that was of the highest degree. All disputes, both public and private, were publicly decided upon in an annual gathering at Carnutes, a sacred area in Gaules.
Druids believed that inner soul was eternal, it could not be diminished after death and simply passed on from one entity to another. Druids performed sacrificial rituals of animals but also humans that were primarily held in forest clearings before sacred territories. The practices of Druid formed a religion called Druidry, a cultural movement that advanced towards religious and spiritual elements as well but still currently focuses on the aspect of environment and naturism, while there remains controversy on the connection of modern Druidry to the concepts of the original Druids.
This collection compiles various essays, stories, even poems on the Druids and Druidry. It gives a detailed insight into the history of Druids and lets readers dwell into the questions surrounding the known facts and controversies on the subject, including the mysteries revolving Druid to date.
