Crocheting is a technique and process involved by using a single crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn or thread to create textiles, fabric, lace, and garments, as well as more complex works such as hats, bags, jewelry, and even toys. The term "crochet" originated from the Old French language, meaning 'small hook'. The crochet hook can be made from materials such as metal, wood, plastic, or bamboo. Crochet differs from knitting in that each stitch is finished before a new one begins. Knitting, on the other hand, keeps many stitches open at a time.
