Greek and Roman mythology were a significant part in the formation of myths in their respective civilizations. Civilization at that time largely believed in the myths and acted accordingly to their beliefs. Greek and Roman mythologies, while completely separate divisions, both consisted of the origin, stories, significance, and traditions of the Greek and Roman gods and goddesses.
Both mythologies were set in completely different time periods, but played a major role in the development of the civilizations, especially of Greece and Rome. Greek and Roman mythologies focus on the existence of gods and goddesses, and how their existence is the integral to the universe and their respective roles in the functioning of the universe.
