John F. Kennedy (JFK) was the 35th President of the United States of America. He died of injuries from a gunshot wound along the way to the Texas School Book Depository Building in downtown Dallas. They were moving in a motorcade and the vehicle conveying the president was an open roof limousine. Kennedy and the governor of Texas, John Connally, were in the same vehicle with their wives, Jacqueline Kennedy and Nellie Connally, when the gunshots were fired. Lyndon B. Johnson, the vice president of the US, was also in the convoy. His car was the third behind that of John F. Kennedy.

The announcement of the assassination at the Dallas’ Parkland Hospital was made 30 minutes after he was shot. Meanwhile, John Connally was also hit from the shots, however, he only sustained serious injuries but survived. After the declaration of the death of J. F. Kennedy, the vice president took the oath of office and was sworn in as the successor of JFK. A man named Oswald, a former marine, was arrested after killing a policeman who queried him around the Dallas rooming house. Oswald was a suspect for the murder of Kennedy and the police officer, J. D. Tippit, as there was an eyewitness who saw him murder the officer. Unfortunately, prior to his trial, Oswald was shot and murdered by Jack Ruby who claimed that his motive for fatally injuring Oswald was from his rage following the death of John Kennedy.

Following the death of Oswald without any proper and detailed investigation for prove his reason for assassinating the president, Lyndon Johnson set up a commission to investigate the death of the former president. The commission was headed by the Chief Justice at that time, a former governor, two members of US representatives, and two senators. The report from the commission could not prove the motive of Oswald in killing the president. There were also emergence of conspiracy theories that did not agree that a single individual could mastermind the assassination.
