The American Indians are also called an indigenous American. They are members of the natives of the Western hemisphere. The western hemisphere is divided into three parts: Northern America, middle America, and Southern America. The Aleuts and Eskimos do not belong to the native American Indians due to their intimate hereditary and cultural association is much more related to the Arctic region rather than the peoples in the south. The dominant culture of the earliest men of the modern American Indians is gathering and nomadic hunting.
The Native Americans migrated during the ice age to North America from Asia, moving in small groups related by family, about 300 – 120 centuries ago. The majority of them passed through the pacific coast and the corridor void of glaciers, currently known as Canada. However, the validity of these two routes that allowed the migration, there is no confirmation on which was more important. Many rudiments and traces of the history of the Native American Indians have been wiped out by geological processes. These processes have erased any trace of the migration route through the coast and the inland journey.
‘Paleo-Indians’ was the term used to refer to the primitive ancestors of the Native Americans. They had a historical and cultural relationship with Asia. For example, they kept dogs for domestic purposes and adopted the use of fire. Historians and archaeologists believe from extensive studies and research that the native American Indians that migrated through the coast hunted mostly sea animals like fishes, while others hunted for land animals and plants. This collection contains comprehensive articles and books on the history and culture of the native American Indian tribe.
This vast collection contain books that cover the history, myths, cultures, traditions, languages, arts, medicine, and religions of various Native American tribes
and ancient civilizations of America - including the Hopi, Incas, Mayans, Navajo, Zuni, and Apache. Take a look at the sample pages taken from just some of these books in the collection.
